Toyota remains on top of LCV market in Australia

The Australian new vehicle sales industry had another strong month in June 2018 with overall sales hitting just over 130,000 units.

Of those vehicles, 28,346 were light commercial vehicles (LCVs).

And it was Toyota again on top across the overall market, as well as our area of interest – ute and vans!

The VFACTS data shows Toyota handed over 7,939 LCVs in the month, that total equating to a dominant 28.0% market share.

Also finishing on the podium in the month were Ford (5,028) and Mitsubishi (3,919).

HiLux was again the biggest-selling LCV in Australia, finishing ahead of Ford’s Ranger on the back of stronger 4×2 sales.

While Chinese brand, LDV was one of the big movers with a better than respectable total in the month.
